Victoria Guest House, Weymouth
Welcome to the web site of the Victoria guest house in Weymouth, Dorset, England.
The Victoria is one of the oldest buildings to be found on Weymouth's famous Georgian Esplanade. Built in 1791, she sits grandly on Weymouth's glorious sea front, with breathtaking views of the bay and surrounding coastline from all of our front rooms (the below picture of the shoreline was taken from our dining room window - click the picture to enlarge it).
Across the road from our front door lies the soft, golden sand and shallow water and, just 30 yards from our back door, you will find the bustling town centre, brimming with many of the high-street shops as well as an excellent selection of smaller, privately owned retailers (for the "shopaholics" amongst you, you will be pleased to learn that we are next door to Marks & Spencer!). In addition to all of this, the Condor Ferry terminal is simply a 5 minute walk along the sea front, perfect for those early morning sailings to the Channel Islands!
Each of our rooms has en-suite facilities, colour television, tea & coffee and central heating; most have outstanding views over the bay. During our recent refurbishment programme, we knocked two of our smaller rooms together, thus creating a brand new Room 5, which is a 1st floor, sea-view family room. With young families in mind, we have even supplied a kitchenette, which comes complete with microwave oven and fridge - also supplied are a dining table & chairs and small bath. Please visit our rooms page to find out more.
Free high-speed internet connection is available to guests with laptops that are wireless-enabled.
We are open for Bed & Breakfast all year round, and are proud to announce that we are a non-smoking establishment.
Charges are payable for off road parking and deposits payable for parking permits, but spaces are limited so are provided on a first come, first served basis.
Please be advised that we no longer offer evening meals and neither do we run the bar. Being located very centrally within Weymouth, our restaurant & bar were rarely used, which is why we were forced to close them. We still retain our drinks license so we are able to open the bar, by prior arrangement, to parties of 10+. There is plenty of choice when deciding where to eat, as we are surrounded by many restaurants, pubs & takeaways. We will gladly give recommendations if asked.
Any guest who deliberately disrupts the peace of others will be asked to keep the noise down or leave immediately, be it day or night. Whilst we do what we can to control the level of noise within the hotel, please remember that we are located on the sea front, in a prime spot within central Weymouth. One must consequently expect there to be a certain element of external noise from time to time.
We are usually unable to accommodate one-night bookings in advance. We only have 13 letting rooms and most people stay with us for a minimum of 3 or 4 nights (or 2 or 3 nights in the winter months i.e. October - April excluding school and public holidays). We have found in the past that the one-night bookings block our ability to accommodate any of the other enquiries that we receive. It is always worth contacting us to see if we have the availability as, occasionally, we are able to take the odd one-night booking if it happens to fit in between a gap in already existing bookings.
